Bells breathe wildly

2019, Sound installation in Water Tower

The sound of the bells was recorded and then processed. this manipulation consists in canceling the tolling of the bells keeping only the intermediate vibrations, and then mixing them in a single continuous track. In this way, the track obtained wants to emulate the fluid rhythm of the flowing water. The original sounds were recorded in the Bell Tower of Guilmi. The final track was then played inside the Water Tower of the same village spreading the new rhythm of the bells in the surrounding landscape.

Bells breathe wildly is a work made during the Guilmi Art Project residency, curated by Lucia Giardino and Federico Bacci, Guilmi (CH), Italy.
