Bells Breathe Wildly
2019, Sound installation in the Water Tower

In the village of Guilmi, I recorded and processed the sound of the local bells. This manipulation involved removing the tolling itself, preserving only the intermediate vibrations, which were then blended into a single continuous track. The aim was to emulate the fluid rhythm of flowing water. The original recordings were captured in the Bell Tower of Guilmi. The final composition was then played inside the village’s Water Tower, allowing the transformed rhythm of the bells to resonate throughout the surrounding landscape.

Bells Breathe Wildly is a work created during the Guilmi Art Project residency, curated by Lucia Giardino and Federico Bacci, in Guilmi (CH), Italy.
