Sky Above, Sea Below
2019, 3D printed PLA plastic, calcium carbonate, aluminium holders, PVC tanks, speakers, water, amplifier boards, cables
The work explores the relationship between the landscape and its constituent elements, focusing primarily on the morphogenetic role of sound in shaping these connections. The floor is occupied by fourteen little tanks containing water, which reacts to sound emitted by speakers placed underneath each tank. The aerial space is filled with seven sculptural elements created through the digital hybridization of virtual solids and the same sound—processed in mono—used in the tanks. These forms were materialized via 3D printing.
Sky Above, Sea Below is a collaborative project by Daniele Di Girolamo and Manrico Pacenti, exhibited at GALLLERIAPIÙ, Bologna.
